The Belgian painter Henri Evrard, who died young, left behind a small but very beautiful oeuvre. He mainly painted figures and genre scenes and was also a particularly skilled portrait painter. Evrard received his education at the academy in Brussels, where he would later also teach for a year. In 1876 he was also co-founder of the painting circle l'Essor.
