biography of Hendrikus Johannes 'Henri' Knip

Henri Knip came from the famous painter family Knip and was trained from a young age by his father M.A. Knip. He became known for gouaches of foreign (Swiss) and Brabant landscapes. As a young painter he may have visited the Swiss mountains with his father in 1933, but he may also have 'borrowed' his Swiss motifs from relatives. He also painted Brabant castles and country houses.
