biography of Hermannus G. 'Herman' Rinket

Herman Rinket belonged to the younger generation of Ploeg painters. As a painter he was initially self-taught. His colourful, lively, expressionistic landscapes and cityscapes from this early period show the influence of his great example E.B. von Dülmen Krumpelmann. At a later age, Rinket started an evening course at the Groninger Academy Minerva, where he was taught by the first team members Jan Altink and Jan van de Baan. His artistic style was definitely influenced by these artists after 1980. Around that time he also became a member of De Ploeg.
