The German painter, watercolorist and draftsman Hermann Blömer is best known as an illustrator. In the 1920s his work was regularly featured in the popular Meggendorfer Blätter, a magazine whose content consisted of humorous images, stories, poems, caricatures and cartoons. The illustrations had a high artistic content. Blömer also made a name for himself as an illustrator of children's books in the 1940s.
