Born in 1885, Ida Langeveld-Dubourcq was married to the Amsterdam artist Frans Langeveld. As was customary in her time, she lived in the shadow of her painting husband. As far as is known, she was not a member of an artists' association and did not exhibit much, if at all. Yet she was a talented painter. Her oeuvre mainly consists of flower still lifes. Especially her roses, painted with a light impressionistic touch in delicate colours, are of exceptional beauty.
