biography of 'Ido' Pieter Vunderink

Colour dominates the abstract paintings of Ido Pieter Vunderink, which juxtapose geometric shapes in contrasting colours to create an interplay of receding and projecting planes, resulting in a strange tension. Vunderink trained at the Gerrit Rietveld Academie in Amsterdam and started out working as a graphic designer. He began painting around 1982/83.
