biography of Jacques Fernan Gonin

The life course of the Italian-born artist Jacques Gonin is largely a mystery. Regular participation in the Salon des Artistes Francais in Paris suggests that the painter may have resided in France for a while. In 1921, his entry at this Salon was awarded a silver medal. Gonin also exhibited his paintings several times in Great Britain. Gonin mainly painted elegantly dressed young women in Impressionist style.
