biography of Jan Antonius van Schooten

Jan Antonius van Schooten initially lived in The Hague, but moved to Amsterdam to follow an evening course at the Rijksacademie (1893-1896) and an art teacher training at the Rijksnormaalschool (1896-1898). He then worked as an art teacher. His free oeuvre mainly consisted of beautifully designed landscapes, beach views and harbour views in impressionist style.
