Jeanette Slager, born in 1881 in a well-known Den Bosch family of artists, concentrated on painting flowers and still lifes. She received her first painting lessons from her father, Piet Slager. Then she trained further under the watchful eye of brother Piet Jr, just like her sister Corry. The work of Jeanette Slager is characterized by the use of powerful, bold colors. The painter lived and worked in Den Bosch, The Hague and finally in Vught, where she died in 1945.
