Jeroen Voskuyl received his training at the Academy Kunstoefening in Arnhem and from 1936 at the Rijksacademie in Amsterdam. There Heinrich Campendonk instilled in him a love for monumental painting. After his training, the artist made study trips to England, France and Italy, among other places. Voskuyl was a very versatile artist who, in addition to paintings and watercolours, also made designs for countless murals, mosaics and Gobelin designs. His favourite subjects were figures, still lifes and landscapes, which he depicted in a completely unique, figurative style.
