Unfortunately, little is known about the Swiss painter John Henri Deluc. He was born in 1868 and died at the age of 90 in 1958. The paintings we know from him are mainly landscapes and everyday scenes: figures in a café, on the market or at a farm. Deluc mainly painted in and around Geneva. With a pastel-coloured palette, he creates an autumnal orchard, a mountain landscape or a farmyard. In his interior paintings with figures, Deluc depicts his figures with more pronounced colours, a coarse touch and powerful lines. One of his paintings is included in the collection of Museu de Arte de São Paulo in Brazil.
