The oeuvre of the Prague artist Josef Multrus offers a varied picture: he painted still lifes, flower arrangements and genre scenes, but also interiors, landscapes and city and village views. He elaborated his subjects in an impressionist style, sometimes with a realistic touch. Although it cannot be said with certainty, it is likely that Multrus lived in Prague all his life. He did make study trips to Italy and Yugoslavia. In 1953 he was awarded for his work.
