Karl Kluth was born in Düsseldorf and lived and worked there all his life. After his training he had to do military service and was a prisoner of war until 1946. After that he worked as a sculptor. He mainly made small sculptures of figures and also portraits. Kluth received several commissions for monumental sculptures, including from the cities of Düsseldorf, Bremen and Neuss.
