Little is known about the life and work of the German artist Käthe Mirtschin. In the first years of the twentieth century she studied at art academies in Weimar, Berlin and Paris, which shows that she had international ambitions as a painter. Influenced by the modern impressionism of the time, she painted contemporary subjects such as domestic genre scenes with a smooth brush and lively colours.
