This artist from Bohemia was initially trained as a glass artist at the well-known 'Glasfachschule' in Steinschönau. He then chose sculpture and studied at the art academy in Cologne. Hlina casts his figurative bronzes in-house, something that doesn't happen often. The artist mainly depicts animals and human figures, sometimes even life-size. Sculptures of children with animals occupy a special place in Ladislav Hlina's oeuvre.
