In an impressionistic to realistic style, he mainly painted landscapes: the mountains, seascapes, but also snowy landscapes, such as this work. Other themes within his oeuvre are: animals, (water) birds, genre scenes and historical subjects. In addition to being a painter, Wayne was also an illustrator and graphic artist. He exhibited his paintings and watercolours regularly, including at the Grand Central Art Galleries in New York.
