biography of Lucien Boulier

The French painter Lucien Boulier was very successful in his day with light-footed portraits of elegant young women and sensual nudes. He learned to paint in the studio of the famous Jean-Léon Gerôme and settled in Paris, where his work was particularly well received between 1919 and 1932 in the Salon d'Automme. In addition to portraits and figures, he also painted flower and fruit still lifes and some landscapes.
