biography of Ludovic Vallée

Born in Paris in 1864, the French painter Ludovic Vallée exhibited from 1903 at the Salon des Indépendants and at the Exposition Nationale in his hometown. Like contemporary Paul Signac, Vallée painted in the pointillist technique that he borrowed from Georges Seurat, but that he interpreted more freely and less scientifically. This resulted in colourful landscapes and park views, as well as beautiful, tranquil still lifes.
