biography of Madeleine Hance

Madeleine Hance is best known as a painter of landscapes, flowers and compositions with figures and children, often with symbolic content. She received her education at the academy in Brussels and under the influence of her teacher Constant Montald developed a style in which the linear prevails. In addition to her usual subjects, she devoted herself to painting religious scenes and made a number of monumental murals, including in the town hall of her hometown Courcelles.
