Belgian painter of landscapes, animals and marines. An influence on his style was a trip he made in 1876 to Scandinavia (including Norway) and Germany. He then developed into a skilled watercolourist. His work was especially popular abroad and he exhibited in Budapest, Milan and Chicago. The appeal of his watercolours lies in the bright colors and the accuracy of the drawing. His work is in the possession of the Antwerp Museum, among others.
