The German Otto Hoffmann was active as a sculptor and his work belongs to the modern sculptures. He depicted both humans and animals in bronze, marble and ivory. Hoffmann succeeded, in a harmonious way, to let his images render balance and strength. His oeuvre shows that he attached great importance to portraying the correct pose and anatomy. Hoffmann often depicted his figures in an active pose, provided with an attribute, so that the image is clear to the viewer.
