To this day, nothing more is known about Pierre Farge than that he was born in Corrèze in France and from the 1920s exhibited frequently at the Salons des Artistes Indépendants and the Salon des Tuileries in Paris. His paintings and watercolours were much loved by his contemporaries and responded to the great demand from tourists for sunny, lively Parisian cityscapes with many figures. Farge made a number of trips, including to Venice and Bruges, where he also painted.
