biography of Pieter Daniel van der Burgh

Pieter Daniël van den Burgh was one of the painters who practiced the genre of the Dutch cityscape in the early 19th century, and as such was the predecessor of Cornelis Springer and Adrianus Eversen. He lived most of his life in The Hague and mainly painted The Hague districts. His work is in the possession of the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam, among others.
