Pieter de Zwart, brother of Willem de Zwart, lived and worked in The Hague all his life. There, between 1905 and 1910, he trained at the Koninklijke Academie van Beeldende Kunsten and developed into a painter of, among other things, landscapes, rendered in an impressionist style. De Zwart's oeuvre is very varied; he preferred to paint, watercolour and etch landscapes, nudes, figure representations and still lifes. Pieter de Zwart's work can be found in the Haags Gemeentemuseum , among other places.
