Robert Hofmann is one of the painters who painted according to the ideals of Impressionism well into the 20th century. His cityscapes, landscapes, parks and gardens appeal to the viewer through their special representation of the seasons and the light. The painter is therefore counted among the Berlin Impressionists. Not much is known about his life. He probably lived and worked for much of his life in Berlin and in the Berlin suburb of Zehlendorf.
