biography of Samuel Henri Mendes da Costa

Samuel Henri Mendes da Costa lived and worked almost all his life in Amsterdam. He painted landscapes and forest views, including on the Veluwe, near Arnhem and in the Achterhoek. Also his still lifes and cityscapes are known. Between 1864 and 1888 he took part in the Exhibitions of Living Masters.
