Silvano Bozzolini is considered one of the painters from the postwar Ecole de Paris. Italian by birth, he settled in Paris in 1947 and joined the group of young painters who used geometric abstract shapes to create compositions. Figures and landscapes can be discerned in the brightly coloured abstract compositions and collages that make up his early work. His work became increasingly abstract during the 1950s.
