The Swedish artist Sonja Katzin learned to sculpt from Lena Börjeson, among others, and studied at various art academies in Sweden. Katzin was born in 1919 in the city of Örebro, near Stockholm. Abstract forms characterize her statues. In addition to her small sculpture, she received many commissions for public monumental art. Her work was highly regarded by contemporaries. She received many commissions, exhibited at exhibitions and won several awards, including the Stockholm City Scholarship.
