Suzanne Kneppelhout was born in Doorn in 1889. She was trained as a painter in London at the Byam Shaw School of Arts. She then continued her painting skills with the painter Marie de Jonge. Decisive for the palette and realistic style of Suzanne Kneppelhout were her teachers Willem van den Berg and H.P. Bremmer. She mainly painted still lifes and portraits and lived and worked in Doorn, Driebergen and Laren.
