Suze Robertson lived and worked in The Hague, Rotterdam and Amsterdam, among others. She was a student of the Rijksakademie in Amsterdam and the Akademie van Beeldende Kunsten in The Hague. She married the painter Richard Bisschop in 1892. Robertson painted and drew still lifes, figures (nudes), landscapes and cityscapes. Her work is characterized by the strong brush treatment and the heavy deep colors.
