biography of Theodorus Ludovicus 'Theo' Mesker

Theo Mesker was born in The Hague in 1853 and received his first painting lessons from his brother, the history painter Jan Mesker. Subsequently he was a student of Willem Maris. Mesker made a name for himself with narrative genre pieces, interiors and intimate street views in and around The Hague.
