It is known that Adriaan Marinus Geijp was born in Middelburg and received his first drawing lessons there. Around 1880 he moved to The Hague, where he further developed himself as a painter. He preferred to paint forest scenes and landscapes with cattle, but he also made a few portraits and cityscapes.
