Although the figures of the Swedish sculptor Carl Johan Eldh are characterized by a realism bordering on classicism, they also have a clear sensuality. Eldh was educated in Sweden and then in Paris, where in 1898 and 1899 he was taught by the then celebrated sculptors Injalbert and Roland and received advice from Rodin. In addition to figures, the artist also made official portraits of celebrities in his native country. His work can be found in the collection of the Glyptotek in Copenhagen, Denmark.
