The French sculptor François Galoyer was trained at the École des Arts Appliqués and the Academy Montparnasse in Paris. In the studio of the Joachim brothers, also in the French capital, he then specialized in sculpture. Galoyer specializes in realistic animal sculptures, with a preference for birds and wild animals. His statues are made of wood, marble, other types of stone or bronze, and are almost always executed in full size. He regularly exhibits at the well-known French Salons, such as the Salon des Indépendants, the Salon d'Automne, the Salon des Artistes Français and the Salon National des Artistes Animaliers. On these and other occasions he has received many awards for his work.
