he first cable car in Valkenburg opened in 1953 but was soon forced to close due to the use of unsuitable materials, such as the wheels of old American tanks. In 1955, the cable car reopened as we see it here. This painting showcases the best of 'HKO': plenty of short stories, a riot of color, and many humorously depicted figures.
