Belgian painter of genre paintings. Like his famous teacher F. de Braekeleer, he excelled in painting rustic peasant interiors, landscapes with figures and scenes from everyday life. Source of inspiration was the work of great 17th century Flemish predecessors such as Adriaen van Ostade and David Teniers.
