Hugo Polderman lived and worked in Haarlem, Winschoten and most of his life, from 1919, in Apeldoorn. He became known mainly as a watercolorist. In impressionist style he painted landscapes, cityscapes, figure pieces and portraits of children. The artist was a member of Arti et Amicitae in Amsterdam.
