biography of Andreas Gerrit Jacobsen

Not much more is known about Andreas Gerrit Jacobsen than that he was born in Amsterdam in 1806. There he concentrated on painting genre and history pieces, as was done in the early 19th century by Cornelis Kruseman and Valentijn Bing, for example. Around 1852 he left for Hoogeveen, after which he painted almost exclusively summer and winter landscapes.
