Adalbert Rogge was born in 1861 in Schwiebus, Germany (now Poland). He probably left for his studies in Berlin, where he lived for a long time. Rogge was an impressionist painter of moody beach scenes, landscapes, figures and a combination of these genres. From 1884 his work became more and more daring and more fluid in design.
