Auguste Desch, born in Nancy in 1877, is one of the portrait and genre painters of the French Belle Époque. In an impressionistic style, with occasionally intense daring color accents, he paints mundane beach scenes, interiors and scenes with mothers and children. Desch followed the École des Beaux-Arts in Nancy and, from 1906, successfully exhibited at the Paris Salon.
