Bernard Brunklaus only started painting at a later age. In a realism that tends to naive, he composes performances in a closed space that are often reminiscent of shop windows. It is known that until 1966, in addition to painting, he had a job as a window dresser at the HEMA department store. He then became a full-time artist and exhibited at the Amsterdam Galeries Siau and Lieve Hemel. There is work by Brunklaus in the Boymans Van Beuningen museum in Rotterdam and the Frans Hals Museum in Haarlem.
