Camille Lambert painted terrace scenes, boulevards, beach scenes, balls and parties in a colourful, luministic style. He usually found the subjects for these carefree genre scenes in places where the Brussels 'beau monde' liked to meet in the early 20th century. The painter lived and worked almost all his life in Brussels, where he was a member of the artists' association 'Labeur'. This enabled him to exhibit annually at the Museum voor Moderne Kunsten, which brought him admirers and buyers. In addition to fashionable genre depictions, he is also known for flower still lifes and leafy gardens with figures.
