Christine Moret, like many female painters, devoted herself mainly to still life. Flowers, flowering branches, fruits and objects-with-a-memory, carefully arranged or seemingly carelessly placed, were a rich source of inspiration for the artist. Moret was educated at the Rijksnormaalschool voor Teekenonderwijs in Amsterdam. She lived and worked in her native city for about 40 years and then in The Hague, Almelo, Breda, Laren and Blaricum. Moret was a member of the metropolitan artists' society 'Arti et Amicitiae' and of the 'Association of Visual Artists Laren-Blaricum'.
