The still lifes of Corrie Pabst are considered part of the New Realism. After her education at the academy in The Hague, she received advice from H.P. Bremmer, who also discussed her work during his art history course. In 1912 she settled in Laren, where a small colony of Bremmer pupils emerged, such as Truus Hettinga Tromp, Bart van der Leck and Douwe Komter. In addition to still lifes, Corry Pabst also painted landscapes and figures in realistic style.
