The paintings, watercolours and prints of the German painter and lithographer Eugen Kirchner were very popular in his day. The artist was one of the founders of the Münchner Sezession and exhibited at the exhibitions of the Berliner Sezession. He made famous illustrations for the Art Nouveau magazine PAN and for the humorous Fliegende Blätter.
