Austrian painter. Was formed at the academy in Vienna, then by the genre and history painters W. Lindenschmit and Otto Seitz in Munich. Painted humorous children's scenes. In 1890 he left for America, where he worked for five years as a portraitist. After his return he settled in Paris, then in London. There he became known for his paintings of children, his genre scenes and elegant women portraits.
