Well-known German painter of portraits and murals. After his painting training in Breslau, he took lessons in Paris in 1892 at the Académie Julian and received advice from the famous French portrait painter Gabriel Ferrier. In the 1990s he developed himself as a portrait painter of celebrities such as Richard Strauss and Gustave Mahler. He also made monumental wall paintings in villas, restaurants and theatres.
