The South African sculptor Harriet Glen showed her artistic talent and her love for animals from an early age. She drew animals in their natural environment and at the age of nine she made her first clay sculptures of horses. With the sale of these images, Harriet Glen bought her first pony. A few years later she studied art in New South Wales and then in Sydney. In the 1970s Glen was a successful jockey, winning a trip to Great Britain at one of the competitions, where she later emigrated. Her bronze animal figures are much loved and included in prestigious sculpture collections worldwide.
