The painter-architect Jacon London was born in 1872 as the son of a contractor. He received his education in Haarlem, where he was a member of two artists' associations around 1900, where he met the sculptor Louis Vreugde. It is mentioned that he also studied in Leiden, Amsterdam and Vienna. London mainly painted cityscapes in impressionist style. In the end, his activities as a talented and active architect prevailed, although he continued to paint throughout his life.
