This painting was previously for sale.
J.B. Tom lived and worked in The Hague. In 1871 he was awarded the municipal medal of Amsterdam. A pupil of A. Schelfhout, at first he had some instruction from P.G. van Os, later an assistant of J.W. van Borselen. He drew and painted landscapes with animals and also etched.
